You armed me with strength for battle;
   you humbled my adversaries before me.

Our Mission

To be a bilingual education institution that guides our students to Christ; teaching them obedience, through the use of the Holy Scriptures as the reference of all knowledge, so that they can make right decisions in their role as Honduran citizens.

Lupa
Nuestra Visión

To form Hondurans worthy of their country who recognize that the principle of wisdom is the fear of God, preparing them both spiritually and academically to face the future successfully.

History

In 1998, a vision to establish a Christ-centered, bilingual school was born. Empowered by God’s strength, this dream became a reality. In October of that same year, Shadai School received authorization to begin operations for the 1999 school year. Key supporters of this effort included the Jones family and members of the Baptist Church in Conway, Arkansas, USA, whose dedication and faith were instrumental in bringing this project to life.

The name "Shadai" comes from the Hebrew word meaning “God Almighty,” chosen to declare the founders’ belief that God is sufficient to begin and sustain every good work. Inspired by Job 8:7, which says, “Though your beginning was small, your latter days will be very great,” Shadai School opened its doors in February 1999 in a residence in the Prados Universitarios neighborhood. Starting with 72 students across kindergarten, elementary grades up to fourth, and high school, the school was staffed by a dedicated team of four teachers.

By the year 2000, God’s blessings were evident as student enrollment doubled. To meet this growth, a new facility was leased, and land was purchased in the same neighborhood for the construction of a permanent school building. In February 2001, Shadai moved into its own building, marking a new chapter as enrollment, staff, and blessings continued to multiply.

In 2002, Shadai celebrated its first sixth-grade graduation. Two years later, in 2004, the school expanded further with the opening of an annex in Colonia Lara to accommodate increasing demand. Continuing to grow, Shadai launched a bilingual secondary program in 2005, offering students innovative and comprehensive study options.

In 2008, construction began on modern facilities located on a two-block property in Colonia Loarque Sur. By 2009, the annex in Colonia Lara transitioned to this new site, increasing the school’s capacity and geographic reach. That same year, Shadai celebrated the graduation of its first high school class, a significant milestone in its history.

In December 2015, Shadai inaugurated a library in honor of Rev. Charles and Mrs. Sue Jones, whose contributions were foundational to the school’s creation. Over the years, Shadai has been enriched by national teachers and international volunteers, bringing diverse perspectives and skills that enhance the learning experience for students. Additionally, the school has fostered international connections through visits to key cities in the United States, including Pensacola, Orlando, Washington D.C., and New York City.

Today, Shadai School is blessed with a large, highly qualified team of teachers who continually undergo national and international training. Guided by faith and excellence, Shadai remains committed to preparing students to thrive as individuals filled with purpose, equipped with knowledge, and rooted in God’s love. Confident in God’s plan, the school looks forward to continuing its mission of contributing to society and proclaiming that He is truly Almighty.

"Y todo lo que te venga a la mano, hazlo con todo empeño; porque en el sepulcro, adonde te diriges, no hay trabajo ni planes ni conocimiento ni sabiduría."
